Poetry
A Ten-Finger Job
Tad Wojnicki

the only poetry I trust is one
I can count on my fingers
one hairy hotdog after another
up to ten crackles that echo
down the halls of injustice
over my not being able to skin
another gaping wound, tear
another sheet of rain, deliver
the last lover from a paralyzing
guilt over what if it all counts

Tad Wojnicki holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and an M.A. in English/Creative Writing. He is the author of a factual novel, Lie Under the Fig Trees (1996), the poetry chapbook Where Angels Catch Hell (2000), and lives in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, where he leads "poetry powwows" on the beach and teaches " Write Like A Lover!" workshops.
